Brittney Bernardi

Maid of Honor

Brittney and Emma met in pre-K during Emma's brief stint in the public school system, and Emma literally can't remember a time before Brittney was a steadfast part of her life. Growing up together, Brittney and Emma have countless memories playing with dolls, having sleepovers, trick or treating, going on vacation together, many mall trips, and so much more. Emma has always been able to count on Brittney for support, encouragement, and advice. Once when Emma was feeling under the weather on opening night of the show she was stage managing, Brittney stopped at the store on her way to class that morning and dropped a bag of Emma's favorite treats in the mailbox with a note of encouragement. Despite their many differences, Emma and Brittney have a friendship that has stood the test of time, and no matter how they change and grow, their friendship has grown stronger with it. Brittney also happens to be the first person that Emma told about Andrew after they started dating, on Halloween night 2016 when they had planned to watch a movie and eat copious amounts of candy, they ended up gossiping into the early morning instead… well, and eating copious amounts of candy.

Jennifer Small

Best Woman

Andrew and his youngest sister have always been close. From a young age, Andrew dragged Jen along for his movie marathons. Jen went to every show Andrew was in (even the ones he didn't invite the rest of the family to) and always headed up his cheering section. In 2013, Andrew and Jen went on a once-in-a-lifetime roadtrip, visiting 7 MLB ballparks (and driving 2,959 miles) in 7 days!

Hillary Huttenhower

Groomswoman

Andrew and Hillary met when they happened to be seated next to each other at a touring production of The Wizard of Oz. Andrew was talking to a friend about why he hoped the Pittsburgh Steelers wouldn't make the Super Bowl (purely for ticket sales reasons...Andrew doesn't care at all about football), and Hillary intervened to say she was a Steelers fan, and hoped the team WOULD advance. They also talked about the show, and about how Hillary was reading The Wonderful Wizard of Oz on her Kindle during intermission.

Four months later, Andrew was starring in Ragtime with the Opera House Players, and his castmate Jess introduced him to her work friend, Hillary. It took both of them a few minutes to remember why the other looked so familiar...but they did. And they've been friends ever since, bonding over their mutual Disney, Glee, Muppet, and West Wing obsessions, to name a few.

Becky Small

Groomswoman

Becky is Andrew's younger sister. Since they were just two years apart, they spent a lot of time together growing up, and even had a shared imaginary friend (named Candy). They may have fought a lot growing up (Andrew says it was always Becky's fault, but Becky begs to differ), but they get along much better now! In 2014, Andrew was honored to be a groomsman in Becky's wedding and he's so excited that she gets to return the favor now! One of Andrew's favorite memories with Becky is their trip to Rio for the 2016 Olympics (he only regrets not learning a bit of Portuguese first).

Carrie White

Bridesmaid

Emma met Carrie circa 2010 when Brittney introduced them, in the gay and lesbian section of Barnes and Noble to be more specific. A few months later they reconnected and became fast friends, as two very dorky adolescents with a passion for Star Trek, Harry Potter, and Dr Who. Since then they have shared a love of crafting, cooking, and an ever evolving rotation of pop-culture interests. Carrie is Emma's partner in crime and sage advice giver whenever she needs help picking recipes, cooking friendsgiving dinner, learning new hobbies, brainstorming DND characters, and so much more. As the resident mom-friends and photographers of their friend-group, their countless memories are well documented in posed portraits and late night selfies, laughing so hard they're blurry. From going to the first stop on John Green's book tour for The Fault in Our Stars, to sleepovers where they spent more time playing The Sims than sleeping, to a spur of the moment road trip to Quassy Amusement Park, and everything in between, Carrie is always there, ready for whatever adventure comes their way.

Shannon Riley

Bridal Attendant/Groomsperson

Emma met Shannon through Brittney when they were teenagers, and they hit it off instantly. Emma and Shannon bonded through movie nights, late night Facebook chats—sometimes deep and philosophical, sometimes about cute cats and funny memes. Shannon and Emma have made countless memories together, sharing a hotel room every year at Connecticon (in recent years with significant others in tow), sharing sushi platters as often as possible, and sharing mundane gossip on long car rides to the beach or from the train station. Shannon is Emma's biggest cheerleader for her art, and has honored Emma by saving every one of the many drawings she's sent them. From comics about their friendship to doodles on the cardboard box of a care-package, they've all been toted from dorm room to home to apartment. Shannon's friendship continues to be an inspiration to help fend off art-block, whether it's an exciting adventure or just a zoom chat to watch Lyndsey and Shannon hang a new pair of curtains.

Andrew has only known Shannon for a few years, but they've become fast friends. Shannon and Andrew are basically the same person, with similar senses of humor. Once, when we were all helping a friend with their OKCupid profile, everyone re-activated their old accounts to see how "compatible" we all were; Andrew and Shannon turned out to be a 98% match (an even higher match percentage than Shannon and their girlfriend)!

Lyndsey Willcox

Bridesmaid

Lyndsey and Emma met when Lyndsey and Shannon started dating in 2018. At first they got to know each other through Facebook group chats and Skype calls. When Lyndsey finally made her way to CT to meet "the friend group," she fit in like a missing puzzle piece and Emma and Andrew instantly had best couple-friends. Lyndsey and Emma became fast friends, spending an hour doing makeup together in a convention center bathroom while Shannon and Andrew waited patiently in the hall, going for a walk together, sprinting to pick up Chinese food because they left their wallets at home the first time around and didn't want their lunch to get cold, and swapping gift advice for their significant others. With so many great memories, even in a relatively short period of time, Lyndsey is an important part of Emma's life, and both she and Andrew are grateful for every double date, trip together, and Zoom chat they share with Lyndsey and Shannon.

Margaret Turgeon

Bridesmaid

Emma always looked up to her cousin Margaret growing up, and looked forward to every family visit. Every time Emma came over, from the time she was a baby through her early childhood, Margaret would spend hours playing with her, and they always ended the night with a beloved tradition—Margaret would give Emma a bath, brush her hair and put in a bow, and often give her a t-shirt to wear home as pajamas. Emma still has these t-shirts to this day, although sadly they're now fitted instead of dragging on the floor like a nightgown. As they grew up Margaret took Emma trick-or-treating every year until she went to college, and took her on special shopping trips to the mall. Emma had the honor of being a junior bridesmaid in Margaret's wedding. Now she is so excited to have Margaret by her side for her special day.
